Liam National champion AGAIN! Thursday, 15th Oct 2009
 Awesome results at Sheffield Nationals.

14 year old Liam Tarandij was truly awesome yet again to win the Nationals for the 4th consecutive year.

Liam who weighs just 32kgs was fighting in the U38kg group and having secured two wins by ippon and one by yuko, earnt a place in the final.

After a gruelling wait of 7 hours for the fianls to begin, Liam's long awaited fight was over in just 8 seconds as he executed a tremendous pick up to throw his opponent for 10!!!

The gold medal yet again claimed by Liam...a truly talented , well deserving recipient!

Vikki Walton, 14, was also on tremendous form and got off to a fantastic start by throwing her first opponent for a big ippon with a devastating harai goshi. Vikki went on to win her 2nd also by ippon following a throw into a hold down. Vikki's next fight was against the eventual finalist and Vikki gave her a tough time with neither player scoring until the last second where Vikki was thrown for ippon....2mins 59 seconds! Vikki went through to the repercharge and won her next fight with wazari awazete ippon. With high hopes of a bronze medal, Vikki unfortunately lost her next fight. This was undeniably the best performance Vikki has ever done...well done girl, now start believing in yourself!

Unfortunately, Paul Burdekin failed to make his weight group by just 300grams...bad luck Paul.

Tommy ferrara fought in the A group down south the previous weekend and also did extremely well having been denied a bronze medal in a contest that was decided by decision...which went in favour of his opponent leaving 'Our Tommy' finishing in 5th position. Tommy won 2 and lost 2 but demonstrated some very nice techniques! well done Tommy
