great performance at NIA Tuesday, 15th Sep 2009
1 gold, 1 1st bronze, 3 players at heart of England

3 club members attended the recent Heart of England in Birmingham.

Liam Tarandij wieghing just 32kgs had to fight in U38kg section and convincingly won all 3 fights with throws. two by ippon and one by waza-ari and took the gold medal. Liam also managed to win his group in the trials for Y&H area.

Keiran Turner fought in the U42kg group having exceeded his weight group by 0.2kg and managed to win 3 of his 4 fights to finish in 1st bronze position. Unfortunatley, Keiran was not able to make the North west trials as his passion for football and commitment to Burnley football club (juniors) meant he could not miss playing another game for them!!!!!!!!! what a blow!

14 yr old Vikki Walton fighting in the U57kg group was pleased with her performance as she secured a win but having lost 2, she was out of the medal positions.

The club were very pleased to have 4 club members selected to represent their counties at the forthcoming  British Nationals. They were Liam Tarandij, connor Nield and Vikki Walton for Y&H and Paul Burdekin for the North West.

Lets knuckle down to some hard training now you guys and be ready!!!!!!!!
